BOB LINN

Bob was born in Haileyville, OK and was brought to the Las Vegas area by his parents in 1937 when he was 6 weeks old.  They were on their way to Oregon when his father found work.  Bob and his family have remained in the Southern Nevada area ever since.   Bob was introduced to bowling in 1956 at the old bowling alley on South 2nd Street.   He joined his first league in 1957 as a member of the Las Vegas Bowling Association which subsequently became the Southern Nevada Bowling Association in 1958.   He has continued to hold membership in the SNBA and ABC ever since.   Bob joined the SNBA Board of Directors in February 1970.   He served as a director and vice-president for the next nine years.   He was then elected president, a position he held until August 1984 when he declined to run for re-election.  During his tenure as president, he was credited with putting the organization on a firm financial footing.  In addition to holding the offices of secretary and president of numerous leagues, Bob also served on the Nevada State Bowling Association where he held the office of director, vice-president and president.   Among Bob's numerous achievements, he owns seven SNBA City Tournament titles, one 300 game, over 40 series over 700, including his highest series of 792 which at the time, was the highest series ever shot in the SNBA tournament.   Bob has also bowled in every SNBA City Tournament since its inception.
