KOTTIE KEMP

Inducted 1984 - Superior Performance

Kottie Kemp started her bowling career at the age of 9 in classes and junior leagues at College Park Lanes in North Las Vegas.  When Kottie was 24 years old she shot her first 300 game in league play at the Showboat in the 575 Scratch Trio.  That made her only the second woman in Nevada history to record a perfect game in league play.  That night in league, she added games of 268, 214, and 227 for a four game total of 1009, her career high.  The first three games were 782, which tied the state record.  Kottie has averaged right around 200 for many years, with a 203 being her high average in 1978.  She has won several Southern Nevada Junior Bowling Association titles and then went on to win 4 LVWBA tournament titles.  Kottie's success continued in the professional ranks, winning two Western Women's Professional Bowlers (WWPB) titles as well as having four top ten finishes on the Women's Professional Bowlers Tour (WPBA).  Kottie was also inducted into the Nevada Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1981.
