MABEL SEXSMITH  (Deceased)

Inducted 1984 - Meritorious Service

Mabel Sexsmith has devoted 1/3 of her life to the Las Vegas Women’s Bowling Association and has seen many ups and downs and changes during that period of time.  Mabel served as First Vice President for one year, but spent 23 years as a Director of the local board.  In 1975, she was honored by the designation of Member Emeritus.  She represented this association at WIBC conventions 12 times and 8 times as a delegate to the Nevada WBA.  She served as NWBA director representing LVWBA for five years, then decided someone else should have that opportunity.  Serving tirelessly and unselfishly wherever needed, Mabel functioned on 19 different committees while on the board, many of them for several years, and several of them as chairman.  In 1973, when the first WIBC tournament was in Las Vegas, she was Chairman of the Opening Ceremonies for this record breaking event.  She was always willing to give a helping hand where required, and spent many hours in the association office assisting the secretary.  She was an active member of the Silver State Women Bowling Writers in the capacity of chairman of three different committees.
