Butch lived in Southern Nevada over 30 years until his death in 1973.   Before records were kept for the Association, he served the SNBA for nine years starting as a Director in 1964,  became a Vice President in 1967 and served as President from 1969 until his death.   As Vice President, he chaired the Yearbook Committee, and as President he changed the direction of the SNBA.  Butch was a man dedicated to bowling both for the good of, and the improvement of the game for the bowler, and was referred to as Mr. BOWLER of Southern Nevada.  The 1975 SNBA Championship Tournament  was named for him, and the Butch Guccione Award was presented to the highest three games bowled during that tournament.  In addition to his active work in tournaments, he was responsible for dressing the Association by putting the Directors in Bowling shirts, and starting the honor roll as found today in the SNBA Average Book.  He was an ABC member for more than 25 years, bowling in three or more leagues with a high average in the 190's.  He had several 700 series to his credit, and records show he bowled in more than 30 leagues, holding office of President in some.
