JAN BARNOWSKY

 

Inducted 1988 - Superior Performance

Jan Barnowsky has been throwing strikes in Southern Nevada since 1970.  Jan has won the local and state High Average title on no less than six occasions, and has also had the high game or series in the state for women at least five times.  In 1974, Jan shot a 705 series in the NWBA State Tournament, the first woman to ever shoot a 700 series in the State Tournament.  Starting in 1970, she won a LVWBA title almost every year for a decade, including Scratch Doubles twice, and Scratch All Events four times.  She was the High Qualifier in the 1967 WIBC Queens Tournament in Rochester, NY and was the New England Bowler of the Year with five tournament titles in Massachusetts.  Finally, Jan was inducted into the NWBA Hall of Fame in 1977.
