Elton was born in 1941, in Big Spring, Texas.   He moved to Las Vegas in the late 50's.   His first average available with the SNBA was in 1965: he averaged 197 at Las Vegas Bowl.   From that point on, he maintained an average of 200 or better well into the 1970's.   His highest was 211.  Elton recorded over 25 series of 700 or better.   His highest on record is 760.   He had several 300's to his credit which includes bowling the first 300 ever in the Nevada State Tournament  in 1966.   He was the SNBA Scratch All Events Champion in 1969, with a record series of 1979, and was the first bowler in the SNBA to roll a four game series over 1000.   He finished in the top 24 in the PBA Showboat tournament in 1973 and again in 1976.   He was truly one of the premier bowlers in Southern Nevada.   In the late Spring of 1988, Elton Kelly died on the Showboat Golf Course, the victim of an unfortunate golfing accident.
