RICHARD R. "Dick" HUGHES

Dick was born in Murray, Utah in July, 1941, and grew up in the Salt Lake area.  In 1959, he joined the ABC and when he moved to Las Vegas, in 1965, he joined the SNBA.   In 1978, he became a member of the SNBA Board of Directors, serving terms as Director, Vice President, Executive Vice President and President, a position he held for six years.   He has been an SNBA  Delegate to the ABC National Convention the past 12 years.   He was Director of the Year in 1982, and was Chairman of the Hall of Fame Committee during its inception in 1983.   In 1984, he became the first male ABC/WIBC Certified Lane Inspector in the State of Nevada.   He was a Vice President on the Nevada State Board and served the State Board for eight years.   Dick has been involved in bowling all of his adult life, and although he still considers himself a conservative 185 average bowler he has two 700's to his credit, and a 1993 high average of 202.
