BOB A. HUGHES Sr.

Bob has been a member of ABC since 1959.  A native of Gardnerville, Nevada, he started bowling in Carson City.   In 1962, he moved to Las Vegas where, he organized the Wells Cargo Bowling Team.   The team bowled in the same league until its dissolution in 1997 and through all those years Bob remained as the only original member.   Bob has always been active in bowling and over the past 30 some years he has served as league secretary to a number of leagues.   He has been the secretary for the Jet Set Mixers League for over 25 years.   He is also secretary for the Gold Coast Mixers, a position he's had since it organized at the Coast.    Devoted to the sport of bowling Bob joined the Southern Nevada Bowling Association as a Director in 1989, and became Director of the Year in 1991.  He was then elected Vice President, and became President of the Association in 1994, a position he held for 3 1/2 years.   Upon the death of Otis Reed, the Association Secretary, Bob was appointed  as Association Secretary for the remaining term, and was elected to that position upon its expiration.  Upon the merger of our associations to form the SNUSBCA, Bob was hired as our first Association Manager, a position which he held until he retired at the end of 2006.  Bob also serves on the Nevada State Bowling Association Board of Directors.
