JEANNE BERRY-KOWALSKI
Jeanne started bowling at the age of eight. She comes from a bowling family. Her mother, Jean, helped her with spares, and her father, Don, worked on the strikes. She rolled her first 600 series, a 609 at age 9. A year later, she was the Masters Champion of the Youth City Tournament and at the age of 12 rolled a 693 series. By the time she was 14, Jeanne had averaged 200 for the first time, rolled 5 - 279 games, was named Junior Bowling Magazines Best Bowler in the Nation with a 289 game and 698 series and won the singles and all events at the 12th Annual Pacific Coast Junior Championships. Things did not stop there. She was the 1980 Best Junior Bowler of the Year, had three 700 series and her high school won the Team Championship. At age 16, Jeanne left the junior ranks and became a member of the WIBC. As of her induction, Jeanne has over fifty 700 series to her credit, one 300 game, 11 in a row 4 times and two 4 game series of 1023, which breaks down to a 255 average. That 4 game series was a record that stood for 12 years. She has booked a 200 average most years since the age of 14. Jeanne joined the LPBT and bowled on the professional tour for a year averaging 204 and making the top 24 in 11 of 15 tournaments. She was in the televised finals three times and her best finish was 4th.
