2008 Clark County High School MVP Bowling Tournament February 14, 2008 The Orleans Bowling Center Las Vegas, Nevada
One hundred and fourteen (114) high school bowlers were entered in the MVP Tournament and they represented twenty nine (29) high schools in Clark County. There were no entries from Spring Valley or Mojave. This is a USBC certified tournament # 05075. Scholarships were given out to top six boys and five girls and the high game one boy and one girl who did not make the finals totally $3,700.00. The sponsors this year were: Bobbi’s Railroad Express League, The Southern Nevada USBC Association, United Brotherhood of Carpenters #1977, and The Orleans and Gold Coast Bowling Centers. Action Trophy’s donated the plaques & Ten Pin Alley for their support. A special thank you to all of the above sponsors for their financial support. All scholarship money earned is held in trust with the SMART Program at the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) in Greendale, Wisconsin. Scholarship winners receive a letter from the SMART Program. Congratulations to all the participants who represented their high school in the 2008 MVP Tournament. This is a scratch tournament with a four (4) game qualifying round, and then the top five (5) boys and girls bowl a step-ladder final round to determine the winner. The sixth (6) place finishers each received a $100.00 scholarship. All finalists win a plaque and scholarship (amount is determined by placement in the finals).
